Phillips Auction House Names Hartley Waltman General Counsel of the Americas -ARTnews

Hartley Waltman has been named general counsel of the Americas for Phillips auction house. Waltman joins Phillips in July after 20 years at Christie’s, most recently as senior vice president and senior counsel. In his new role, Waltman will be tasked with overseeing legal functions in North America from Phillip’s New York office, reporting to Martin Wilson, Phillips’ chief legal counsel.

In a release, Edward Dolman, Phillips’s CEO, said Hartman “brings with him considerable expertise, sharp judgement, and a long track record of successfully negotiating high value art transactions and resolving complex disputes.”
