Starting Monday and continuing through May 11, the Andy Warhol Foundation will share some 70 rarely seen photographs of its namesake on Instagram, with images drawn from the Andy Warhol Photography Archive at Stanford University’s Cantor Arts Center. Donated by the foundation in 2014, the archive—online and accessible for free—includes 130,000 photographic negatives and more than 3,600 contact sheets.

One or more photos will be posted with the hashtag #IntimateAndy to the @warholfoundation Instagram account each day, and other organizations or anyone who might have candid pictures of the artist are encouraged to join in.

An image shared in advance above shows Warhol opening birthday presents at a party at his fashion-designer friend Halston’s place in 1979. A copy of Sharon Boorstin’s book Keep On Rollin’: The Complete Guide to Roller-Skating in America sits beside the artist, who is wearing a helmet for the ages. And though the woman wearing a nurse’s outfit in the background bears a resemblance to the dark-haired Madonna of the time, a Warhol Foundation spokesperson said her identity is unknown. Whatever the chances of that, judging by his knee pads, it looks certain that Warhol himself was ready to take to the rink.
