The board of trustees of the J. Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles has elected David L. Lee as its new president. Lee, who has served on the board since 2009, will begin his four-year term on July 1.
He succeeds Maria Hummer-Tuttle as the leader of the 15-member board and is a cofounder and managing general partner of the Beverly Hills–based private equity firm Clarity Partners. Lee is also chair of the board of trustees of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena and the chair of the board of overseers of the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine.
“Through its extensive research, conservation, exhibition and education programs, the Getty’s work has made a powerful impact not only on the Los Angeles region, but around the world,” Lee said in a statement. “I am honored to be part of such a generous, inspiring organization that makes a lasting difference and is a source of great pride for our community.”
