Google, Facebook\/Instagram e YouTube s\u00e3o os grandes bichos pap\u00f5es que fazem de n\u00f3s esse produto\u2026<br \/>\nVamos por partes.<br \/>\nRelativamente a esta ideia\/teoria de que o consumidor \u00e9 que \u00e9 o produto, esclarecer que n\u00e3o surgiu com as redes sociais ou com a internet. Esta forma de pensar ter\u00e1 sido pela primeira vez apresentada por dois artistas americanos, Richard Serra e Carlota Fay, em 1973, num v\u00eddeo intitulado \u201cTelevision delivers people\u201d, que criaram para criticar a televis\u00e3o, o consumo de massas e a pop culture. Foram quase sete minutos de um v\u00eddeo muito b\u00e1sico onde, com uma m\u00fasica tamb\u00e9m ela muito b\u00e1sica, vemos passar frases como: \u201c\u00c9 o consumidor que est\u00e1 a ser consumido\u201d, \u201co consumidor \u00e9 entregue ao anunciante que \u00e9 cliente\u201d, \u201cvoc\u00eas s\u00e3o o produto final\u201d ou \u201cvoc\u00eas s\u00e3o o produto da televis\u00e3o\u201d (tradu\u00e7\u00e3o livre).<br \/>\nCuriosamente, ou propositadamente, os artistas escolheram ent\u00e3o comprar espa\u00e7o televisivo para passar este conte\u00fado de critica ao consumo que estava a ser feito da televis\u00e3o.<br \/>\nQuase 50 anos depois Richard Serra continua a fazer obras fant\u00e1sticas (n\u00e3o \u00e9 para aqui chamado, mas n\u00e3o resisto a tornar p\u00fablica a admira\u00e7\u00e3o que sinto pelas esculturas de ferro deste artista intemporal) e n\u00f3s continuamos a ser o produto de algo que cri\u00e1mos: antes a televis\u00e3o, agora as redes sociais. N\u00f3s e Tristan Harris, \u201cpersonagem\u201d principal do The Social Dilemma e co-fundador do Center for Humane Technology (organismo independente que luta para voltar a colocar a tecnologia ao servi\u00e7o da humanidade e n\u00e3o dela pr\u00f3pria) que curiosamente, ou inevitavelmente, se apoia nas redes sociais para divulgar a sua causa.<br \/>\nEstas plataformas, que serviram de mote para o document\u00e1rio, n\u00e3o dever\u00e3o sofrer quaisquer consequ\u00eancias em virtude de poss\u00edveis altera\u00e7\u00f5es de comportamento dos seus utilizadores, ou devo dizer produtos. Numa \u201csondagem\u201d nada cient\u00edfica que venho fazendo junto de quem viu este document\u00e1rio tenho confirmado duas coisas: quase todos fic\u00e1mos chocados com o controlo que estas plataformas t\u00eam sobre n\u00f3s e quase ningu\u00e9m alterou os seus h\u00e1bitos de utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o das mesmas. Continuamos a consumir horas de v\u00eddeo e a fazer swipe e scroll em todas as dire\u00e7\u00f5es.<br \/>\nE as marcas? Podem ou devem elas alterar alguma coisa no seu comportamento em virtude do que este coment\u00e1rio p\u00f4s mais a nu?<br \/>\nSe quando Richard Serra fez a sua obra audiovisual contestat\u00e1ria, era a televis\u00e3o que \u201ccontrolava as pessoas\u201d e era a\u00ed que as marcas punham grande parte dos seu foco e esfor\u00e7o para chegar ao consumidor, qual a d\u00favida de que o digital \u00e9 hoje a televis\u00e3o de 1973?<br \/>\nNingu\u00e9m parece ter grandes d\u00favidas disto\u2026 falta s\u00f3 alguma coragem para as marcas mudarem o foco.<br \/>\nA digitaliza\u00e7\u00e3o da economia, que a pandemia for\u00e7ou, n\u00e3o est\u00e1 a ser acompanhada por uma digitaliza\u00e7\u00e3o da comunica\u00e7\u00e3o e da \u201cpublicidade\u201d. Enquanto marcas fomos todos muito \u00e1geis a adaptarmo-nos ao e-commerce e \u00e0s suas vantagens. Hoje, todos temos um site de vendas online, mas ningu\u00e9m quer pagar uma estrat\u00e9gia de e-commerce. Hoje, somos exigentes na contrata\u00e7\u00e3o de uma ag\u00eancia para nos gerir as redes sociais, mas n\u00e3o queremos investir numa estrat\u00e9gia de conte\u00fados. Hoje o consumidor faz grande parte da sua journey online e continuamos a dedicar a maior fatia do nosso budget de media \u00e0 televis\u00e3o (quem ainda tem budget para isso). Hoje sabemos tudo o que o precisamos de saber para impactar e alterar o comportamento do nosso consumidor, e achamos que por ter uma presen\u00e7a digital as coisas v\u00e3o acontecer por si\u2026 pois n\u00e3o v\u00e3o. Estar presente n\u00e3o basta. H\u00e1 que saber estar.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nNota: Refiro-me de forma generalizada \u00e0s marcas sendo que a carapu\u00e7a \u00e9 s\u00f3 para quem servir.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nDesabafo: N\u00e3o passem briefings \u00e0s vossas ag\u00eancias criativas ou digitais a dizer que querem uma estrat\u00e9gia de conte\u00fados com \u201c4 posts por semana no Facebook e 3 no Instagram\u201d.
