Microsoft ha llegado a un acuerdo con el Departamento de Justicia y la Comisi\u00f3n de Bolsa y Valores de Estados Unidos (SEC, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) para pagar una multa de 25 millones de d\u00f3lares (22,3 millones de euros) por haber realizado sobornos mediante la venta de licencias de software a distintas agencias gubernamentales en Hungr\u00eda.<\/p>\n
En concreto, Microsoft tendr\u00e1 que pagar 8,7 millones de d\u00f3lares (7,8 millones de euros) al Departamento de Justicia, as\u00ed como otros 16,5 millones de d\u00f3lares (14,7 millones de euros) a la SEC por haber incumplido la Ley de Pr\u00e1cticas Corruptas en el Extranjero. La multa incluye una rebaja por la cooperaci\u00f3n mostrada por la compa\u00f1\u00eda y por haber implementado un sistema de cumplimiento y control interno “mejorado”.<\/p>\n
De acuerdo a lo admitido por la filial en Hungr\u00eda de Microsoft, entre 2013 y 2015, un ejecutivo senior y otros empleados de la compa\u00f1\u00eda participaron en un plan para “inflar” los m\u00e1rgenes de Microsoft en las ventas de licencias de software a agencias gubernamentales del pa\u00eds europeo.<\/p>\n
As\u00ed, Microsoft Hungr\u00eda defendi\u00f3 ante su matriz que ten\u00eda que realizar descuentos para cerrar tratos con los vendedores de licencias que optaban a licitaciones por parte del Gobierno. En realidad, el dinero de esos descuentos, que no lleg\u00f3 a las cuentas de Microsoft, se destin\u00f3 a “pr\u00e1cticas corruptas”.<\/p>\n
Por su parte, la empresa radicada en Redmond ha explicado que en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os ha despedido a cuatro empleados en Hungr\u00eda relacionados con las investigaciones, as\u00ed como que ha finalizado los acuerdos con cuatro vendedores de licencias.<\/p>\n
“Estuvimos profundamente decepcionados y avergonzados cuando nos enteramos de estos hechos hace unos a\u00f1os y esperamos que todos los pasos que hemos tomado desde entonces, incluido el acuerdo de hoy, manden un mensaje claro”, ha subrayado el presidente de la divisi\u00f3n de software de Microsoft, Brad Smith.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
